ACCREDIS Data Collector Overview

Chip card technology

With the Data Collector, journey data stored on chip cards via the ACCREDIS control unit is uploaded at a central location and saved temporarily.

What does the ACCREDIS® Data Collector do?

Data collected on chip cards is only of value if it can be uploaded and processed. The data on each card can be uploaded via the PC, but this means that the cards must be collected at a central location near the PC. This may not be desirable as it can disrupt the data collection process. Sometimes regular uploading is not practical in terms of organisation. The Data Collector plays a role in this regard. All chip cards are placed in the collector and uploaded periodically. This can occur at any moment and independent of the company employee responsible for this task. Depending on the application, the collector memory can store data from hundreds of cards. When an appropriate moment arises, the PC can retrieve data from the memory of the collector and transfer it to the ACCREDIS database.

Who is Data Collector suitable for?

Anyone who has opted or will opt for ACCREDIS Basic, and who considers the central uploading of data for rapid processing to be important.

Use

It is assumed that ACCREDIS chip cards are used to record journey data. A collector unit is mounted in one or more centrally located place(s). The connection to your PC is provided by a direct line or telephone line, as desired. Chip cards that are in use are inserted into the collector on a regular basis. Data is read from the chip card and stored in the memory of the collector.

Simple to operate

Someone who uses an ACCREDIS Chip Card only needs to insert the chip card into the data collector on a regular basis. No additional activities are required to upload data from the card.

ACCREDIS® Data Collector software

The Data Collector is used in combination with the ACCREDIS Data Collector uploader.
