About ACCREDIS Automated Mileage Capture
ACCREDIS was originally launched as a device for automated mileage capture in the Netherlands in 2001.This was as a result of the federal Tax Authorities demanding greater detail of business mileage. In a short period of time ACCREDIS became the market leading mileage capture solution and was recognised as having unique features that benefit both the employee and employer. The success of ACCREDIS in Europe is derived from its simplicity, the fact that private usage remains private and the ease with which data can be integrated with other enterprise systems. Since its initial launch ACCREDIS is now distributed in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom.
During 2003 FleetConsult investigated the deployment of ACCREDIS in the United Kingdom; what became clear was that the trend to move away from traditional company car schemes demanded a robust method of mileage capture and reconciliation. Linked to this the Driving at Work, managing work related Health and Safety, guidelines were issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The HSE recommended the monitoring of work related driving and impressed upon employers their Duty of Care responsibilities.
FleetConsult were appointed UK Distributor for ACCREDIS in November 2003 and subsequently commenced product localisation in time for commercial release in July 2004. In September 2004 the Inland Revenue confirmed that ACCREDIS is sufficient for the control of the reimbursement of business mileage to private and company car users.
